How we made our new stevOS trailer.

Welcome to the first-ever blog post on the new Stev/Talktive Dev Blog! I'm thrilled to share with you my rapid and cost-effective approach to creating a captivating trailer for our latest webOS project. In this post, I'll walk you through the step-by-step process I followed, utilizing various online tools and platforms, resulting in an impressive trailer in just 10 minutes:

Step 1: Exploring RenderForest's Templates. To start my trailer creation process, I headed over to RenderForest, a pretty cool online video editing platform. I began by browsing templates until I found the perfect one that aligned with my vision. With RenderForest, I could easily customize the chosen template to match our webOS project.

Step 2: Selecting and Customizing Clips. Next, I picked the clips I wanted to include in my trailer. RenderForest's user-friendly interface allowed me to effortlessly modify and adjust the selected clips, ensuring they perfectly showcased the key features and functionalities of our webOS. This step allowed me to personalize and tailor the trailer to my project.

Step 3: Recording Screenshots and Editing in Canva. To add an extra touch of visual appeal, I took screenshots of stevOS, but some didn't feel quite right. I moved to Canva, a versatile graphic design platform, to enhance these screenshots. Canva's extensive editing tools empowered me to refine the visuals, add text overlays, and create a cohesive and visually striking narrative for my trailer.

Step 4: Screen Recordings and Acceleration with Clipchamp. To showcase the dynamic interaction and fluid user experience of our webOS, I made some screen recordings on the web preview. I recorded snippets of me moving some windows around and texting myself on the STEV Discord, but my mouse is pretty bad so the recordings came out pretty shaky and slow; not smooth at all. I picked one clip (out of 20 or so) that looked the best and then took it to Clipchamp to accelerate it slightly (by 10x lol) so it would look nice and smooth.



Step 5: Returning to RenderForest and Adding Media. After completing the editing and customization steps, I returned to RenderForest to bring all my media elements together. Using RenderForest's intuitive interface, I effortlessly uploaded my edited screenshots, enhanced clips, and screen recordings. I then placed these within the template to craft a visually captivating and cohesive storyline.

Step 6: Adding Text, Choosing a Soundtrack, and Rendering. With my media elements in place, I proceeded to add text overlays that conveyed essential information about our webOS. RenderForest provided a wide range of font styles and animations to ensure my message stood out. Additionally, I had the opportunity to browse their extensive library of royalty-free music, selecting a soundtrack that perfectly complemented the tone and energy of my trailer. Finally, I clicked the render button and eagerly awaited the completion of my masterpiece.

So, in just 10 minutes, I was able to create a stunning trailer for our webOS project, thanks to the seamless integration of various online tools and platforms. By utilizing RenderForest's templates and customization features, Canva's editing capabilities, and Clipchamp's video acceleration functionality, I achieved professional-level results without any cost. This streamlined workflow enabled me to focus on the creative aspect while delivering an engaging and visually appealing trailer for our webOS.
